Tourney Time: Women's Basketball Travels to Marian for Crossroads League Championship

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's basketball team will face Marian University for the Crossroads League Tournament Championship on Monday, March 2. 

The Cougars, who earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament, will travel to the No. 1-seeded Knights for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.

GAME NOTES

  • Saint Francis closed the regular season at 25-3 overall and 15-3 in Crossroads League play. The Cougars are ranked No. 6 in the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
  • Marian finished the regular season at 26-2 and a 16-2 record in league play. The Knights are ranked No. 4 in the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
  • The Cougars handed the Knights their first loss of the season back in January after upsetting Marian 56-46. Cali Gregory led SF with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Renna Schwieterman followed with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Taylor Fordyce added 14 points. Olivia Faust led MU with 12 points and Abbey McNally finished with 11 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks. 
  • Marian earned a 66-58 win in the teams' second meeting of the season. Saint Francis was led by Gregory with 23 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Julia Mantyla finished with 16 points, followed by Fordyce with 10 points. Abbey McNally, Madisyn Bailey and Taylor Double all finished with 12 points for the Knights. Abbey McNally also had 11 rebounds. 
  • The Cougars are averaging 73.2 points per game, 34.5 rebounds per game and 12.8 assists per game. Marian is averaging 80.7 points per game, 41.5 rebounds per game and 17.5 assists per game. 
  • Gregory is averaging 16.6 points per game, with 497 points scored this season. Schwieterman has 6.1 rebounds per game for 171 total boards pulled down this season. 
  • Abbey McNally is averaging 19.3 points per game this season for 578 points scored on the year. McNally is also averaging 10.6 rebounds per game this season.
