SF Baseball Closes Season with Loss to SAU in League Tournament

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) baseball team concluded its 2026 season with a loss to Spring Arbor University in a Crossroads League Tournament elimination game on Friday, May 1.

Saint Francis, the No. 5 seed, faced No. 6 seed Spring Arbor in the win-or-go-home matchup.

Spring Arbor struck first with a two-run double in the top of the first inning.

After adding another run in the seventh to take a 3-0 lead, Saint Francis responded in the bottom half of the inning. The SF Cougars plated runs on a balk and a sacrifice fly to left field to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Spring Arbor answered with three runs in the top of the eighth to pull away for the 6-2 victory and advance in the tournament.

Saint Francis recorded four hits and drew one walk. Zavier Edgar had a double, while Cole Kintz drove in a run with a sac fly.

On the mound, Dawson French was charged with the loss after allowing three runs on four hits while striking out three over 6.2 innings.

Saint Francis concludes the 2026 season with an overall record of 21-31, including an 18-18 mark in Crossroads League play.
