Cougars Record Strong Showing at League Championships

MARION, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's outdoor track and field team competed at the 2026 Crossroads League Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University on April 30-May 1.

Saint Francis finished seventh as a team at this year's league championships.

Kiara Bahena led the Cougars with a runner-up finish in the 800m, crossing the line in 2:16.33.

Hannah Boersema added a third-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 34.18m (112' 2") and placed fourth in the heptathlon with 3,857 points.

The 4x800m relay team ofLinda Koech, Lindy Wood, Gloria Wafula, and Debra Ngetich placed fifth with a time of 10:23.64.

The 4x400m relay team of Kiara Bahena, Rileigh Baumer, Lauren Moore, and Victoria Clibon also finished fifth, posting a time of 4:07.47.

Clibon added a fifth-place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 11:57.78.

Andrea Pfau finished sixth in the 10,000m (38:00.10), while Rileigh Baumer placed eighth in the 400m (1:00.47). Lauren Moore also recorded an eighth-place finish in the 1,500m with a time of 4:52.23.

The NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held May 20-22 in Asheville, North Carolina, at the Karl Straus Track at UNC Asheville. The 4x800m relay team has met the NAIA B standard and currently ranks 16th in the nation, while Boersema has also reached the NAIA B standard in the javelin with the 16th-best mark nationally.
