Boersema's Two Podium Finishes Highlight Crossroads League Championships for USF

MARION, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) outdoor track and field teams competed in the Crossroads League Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University on May 1-2. 

As a team, the Cougars finished in eighth place with a score of 34 points. 

Hannah Boersema was named "Most Valuable Athlete Field Events" after she won the javelin with an NAIA 'B' Standard and new personal best mark of 42.75m (140' 3"). Boersema also earned All-League honors in the heptathlon with a new USF school record of 4144 points for second place. 

Malena Ricks finished in fourth place in the javelin with a mark of 33.12m (108' 8"). 

Mariah Maley also brought home a fourth-place finish in the 400m hurdles at 1:04.30. 

Linda Koech took sixth place in the 5,000m run with a time of 18:47.57.

The 4x800m relay team of Lily KissnerLindy WoodLillee Stewart and Anna Strong finished in seventh with a time of 11:21.16.

The 4x400m relay team consisting of Rileigh BaumerKiara Bahena, Maley and Stewart finished in eighth place after crossing the finish line in a time of 4:13.87.

Up next, USF's National Qualifiers will prepare for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships that will take place from May 21-3 on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University.
