Two Event Wins and an NAIA 'B' Standard Mark Highlight Weekend Meet for Saint Francis
WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Cougars of the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) outdoor track and field teams participated in the JENNASTRONG Track and Field Invitational at Wilmington College on Saturday, April 5.
As a team, the Cougars finished in sixth place with a total of 56 points. Highlights of the meet included two first-place finishes and an NAIA 'B' Standard mark.
Lea Kunstmann hit the NAIA 'B' Standard in the 3,000m steeplechase after securing first place with a time of 11:12.28. She also participated in the 800m, finishing in fourth place with a Saint Francis top-10 time of 2:21.52.
Hannah Boersema won the javelin with a throw of 39.08m (128' 2").
Kiara Bahena finished in second place in the 800m with a time of 2:20.22.
Mariah Maley competed in the 400m hurdles, earning second place with a time of 1:05.20.
The 4x400m relay team, which included Bahena, Rileigh Baumer,Maley, and Lillee Stewart, also placed second, finishing with a time of 4:13.97, marking a new top-10 performance for USF.
Malena Ricks took third place in the javelin, achieving a new USF top mark of 33.50m (109' 11").
Up next, USF track and field will compete at the Indiana Little State Championships hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University on April 11-12.
