Cougars Drop Road Match to No. 16 Trojans

UPLAND, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's soccer team faced the No. 16-ranked Trojans from Taylor University in a tough road match on Wednesday, October 15.

Taylor took an early 2-0 lead in the opening 10 minutes of action on Wednesday night. The Cougars tried to create chances offensively, but were unable to find the back of the net as the Trojans went into halftime up 2-0.

Taylor was able to extend its lead with goals in the 52nd and 67th minutes, bringing the score to 4-0 midway through the second half. Saint Francis was unable to slow the Trojans' attack as TU secured the 4-0 victory to improve to 11-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 in Crossroads League play.

Taylor held a 26-3 advantage in shots and finished with six corner kicks compared to the Cougars' four. Haleigh Wesley led SF with two shots on the night, while Rachel Bova and Alexis Pokley faced a combined 10 shots on goal, making six saves total against the Trojans.

Up next, the Cougars (7-6-1, 1-5-0 CL) will host No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday, October 18. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. at Bishop John M. D'Arcy Stadium.
