FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's soccer team hosted No. 23 Grace College for the Cougars' league opener on Wednesday, September 24, at Bishop John M. D'Arcy Stadium.
Grace scored a goal in the fourth minute of Wednesday night's match to take an early 1-0 lead. With 34:48 on the clock, Grace Hein netted the equalizer, making the score 1-1 at halftime.
The score remained tied until the 71st minute when Nora Pollock broke through to score a goal, giving the Lancers a 2-1 lead. Pollock struck again less than six minutes later, and another goal from Grace in the 88th minute extended their lead to 4-1. In the second half, Grace outshot the Cougars by nine shots, as the Cougars struggled to generate enough offense against a strong Lancer defense to close the gap.
