Cougars Defeat Eagles on the Road
MIDWAY, Ky. -- The Cougars traveled to Midway University this afternoon to face-off with the Midway University Eagles. The Cougars added to their undefeated season thus far, defeating the Eagles 75-59.
The Cougars outscored the Eagles in every quarter, but the third, but their offensive prowess and transitional fast break play was too much for the Eagles to contain. Ally Madden was unstoppable in the paint, leading the Cougars in overall scoring with 23 points, 1 assist, 4 rebounds, & was shooting 91% from the field (10-for-11). Taylor Fordyce was also a key factor in the Cougar win, sprinkling in a shy 18 points, 4 assists, and 9 rebounds (1 offensive, 1 defensive).
Chloe McKnight & Julia Mantyla were also pivotal in the Cougar defense combining for 13 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. McKnight also had 9 points & Mantyla had 8 points. USF is now on a 3-game winning streak and will travel to a cross-town rival this Wednesday.
This Wednesday the Cougars will play in Schaefer Center on the campus of Indiana Tech for a 3pm tip-off against the Warriors. The Warriors are ranked No. 20 in the NAIA for the preseason poll, but are currently 1-1 overall. The last time these two sides met was in December of last year, where the Warriors snuck a 71-69 2-point victory over the Cougars at Hutzell. The address for Wednesday is as follows: 1600 E.
