SF Dominates LTU on the Road 35-0

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The No. 24 University of Saint Francis (Ind.) football team dominated on both sides of the ball Saturday afternoon, shutting out Lawrence Technological University 35-0 at Blue Devil Stadium. 

The Cougars set the tone early, blocking a punt that freshman Ifeoluwa Adeobarecovered in the end zone for the opening touchdown. Later in the first quarter, Drew Wheat capped an 88-yard drive with a four-yard rushing score to give SF a 14-0 lead. 

In the second quarter,Joshua Kulka connected withChris Mullen for a 17-yard touchdown strike, extending the advantage to 21-0 at the half. Kulka added two more touchdown passes after the break—an 18-yard pass to Crosley MacEachen on the first play of the third quarter and a 25-yard connection withAdam Smithin the fourth. 

Saint Francis finished with 432 yards of total offense. Wheat powered the rushing attack with 175 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. Wheat also added two catches for 10 yards. Kulka finished 16-of-31 for 197 yards and three touchdowns. MacEachen brought in three passes for 67 yards. Austin Deleon went a perfect 5-5 on extra-point attempts.

The Cougar defense forced two turnovers, tallied four sacks, and held the Blue Devils to just 229 yards of total offense. Tamarris Springfield led with six total tackles, including 1.5 tackles for a loss of three yards and a pass breakup. Dylan Krehl added five tackles, a fumble recovery and a quarterback hurry. James MathewsJoshua NzizaBobby WeilerMichael FullerAJ Moore and Marquise Cross combined for four sacks, while Nick Nondorf had an interception. 

Up next, Saint Francis football (2-1) will return home to host Defiance College during Homecoming at Bishop D'Arcy Stadium on Saturday, September 27, with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m.
