FORT WAYNE, IND. - On Saturday afternoon the University of Saint Francis Cougars (3-2; 1-1 MSFA MEL) hosted the Marian Unviersity Knights (4-1; 2-1 MSFA) but was unable to get a second half spark on offense as they fell 10-37.

As the game went underway, Saint Francis was able to to shutout Marian in its opening drive and use the momentum to drive downfield on offense. Cameron Peterso would manage to rush for a 3-yard touchdown drive to command a 7-0 start for the Cougars. However, this would manage to be the only touchdown the Cougars could muster during the matchup.

Marian would get some momentum on the defense as they would hold the Cougars to a 23-yard field goal to make it 10-7 in the second. Marian would turn the momentum into a 2-yard rushing touchdown to make it 14-10 before halftime.

As the second half got underway, Marian would start to click on offense agains the Cougars. Marion would rush for a 3-yard touchdown to go up 20-10 halfway through the third. They also would score a 17-yard passing touchdown to go up 27-10 in the fourth quarter. The Marian defense would also force some costly turnovers for the Cougars on both the running and passing game. The Knights would force costly fumbles and interceptions that would swing away the momentum from the Cougars and allow them to command the fourth quarter.

The Cougars would try everything they could to battle back, but the turnovers and mistakes would become too costly. Marian managed to force Heath Simmons to throw a 30-yard pick six to seal the game 10-37 for the Knights.

Saint Francis would stall out on offense for the last few drives of the game, and it would result in them falling at home. The Cougars managed to put up only 103 passing yards and 86 rushing yards throughout the game.
