Senior Kicker Jack James Wins MSFA Special Teams Player of the Week
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The University of Saint Francis athletic department is excited to announce that senior kicker Jack James from No. 20 USF football has been named the MSFA Special Teams Player of the Week.
James' efforts on Saturday night were perfect as he went 6-for-6 in extra point attempts, and 3-for-3 in field goal attempts as the Cougars improved to 2-0 to start the season.
Beginning Saturday's game against the Judson Eagles, the Cougars marched down the field in their first two opening drives, but after not being able to reach the endzone, James knocked in consecutive field goals to give them a 6-0 lead.
After that, the Cougars offense exploded for 51 points as they came away with a 51-19 victory over the Eagles.
The Cougars' next opponent will be the Saint Xavier University Cougars (1-2) taking place at Bishop D'Arcy Stadium Saturday evening with kickoff set for 6:00 pm.
