   KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The University of Saint Francis football team is ranked No. 11 in the NAIA Football Coaches Top 25 poll released late this afternoon.

  The 7-2 Cougars have one regular season left this Saturday at (6-3) Taylor University, which moved into the Top 25 at No. 25 after securing its first winning season since 1999. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Jim Wheeler Stadium in Upland, Ind. 

   USF has now been in the NAIA Top 25 for 126 consecutive polls, the longest streak in NAIA. The Cougars lost to then No. 6 St. Xavier University 36-24 on Saturday. SXU moved up to No. 5 after winning its first Mid-States Football Association Mideast League title and ending USF’s 56-game home winning streak.

The MSFA has six teams in the Top 25. McKendree is No. 9, Grand View No. 17, Walsh No. 21 in addition to SXU, USF, and TU.

   USF had been in the Top 25’s Top 10 for 80 consecutive polls starting with a No. 7 ranking (up from No. 11 the week before) on Sept. 30, 2003.
