Hutzell Athletic Center

Capacity: 1,900
Built: 1990

The center of University of Saint Francis athletics is the Hutzell Athletic Center – named in the honor of Miss Irma Hutzell, a long-time benefactor of USF. The athletic center was built in 1990, and immediately began its key role in the continued development of Cougar athletes. In November of 1990 the men’s basketball team upset cross-town rival IPFW, 66-64, for the first Cougar victory in the center. The center has been home to numerous basketball and volleyball tournaments – collegiate, high school and youth leagues -- and also serves as indoor training facility for USF track and field, softball and baseball programs. In addition to the arena, Hutzell Athletic Center contains a training room, weight room and administrative offices.
